6 years of
family law
education online
Domain started in Orléans in 2019 as a direct response to one persistent gap: residents facing separation, custody disputes, or property questions had almost nowhere to get reliable, accessible guidance without hiring a lawyer first. We built a live webinar platform to close that gap, one session at a time.
What we actually do in each session
Every webinar pairs a practising family law professional with a structured Q&A window — not a pre-recorded lecture. Participants raise real situations: a shared mortgage during separation, parenting schedules that stopped working, or what spousal support looks like after a short marriage. The format keeps things grounded and specific.
Sessions run between 60 and 90 minutes, with a moderated chat that lets quieter attendees submit questions without speaking. We cap attendance at 40 per live session so that individual questions don't get lost in a busy stream.
The people behind the sessions
Two educators who have spent their careers making legal concepts accessible to people without legal training.
Nadia Ostrovsky
Nadia spent eight years advising community legal clinics in eastern Ontario before joining Domain. She focuses on custody, parenting arrangements, and what Ontario courts actually weigh when parents disagree. Her sessions draw the most repeat attendees — people return when a new question comes up.
Petra Vanlinden
Petra designs the structure of each program — which topics run in what order, how complex material gets broken into digestible segments, and how the interactive tools are used during live sessions. Her background is in adult education, and it shows in how clearly participants say they follow along.
Most people come to us having already spent hours on Google getting contradictory answers. What they need isn't more information — it's someone who can put their specific situation in context and tell them what actually applies.
Questions before you register?
Not every session is the right fit for every situation. If you're unsure whether a specific webinar covers what you're dealing with, reach out directly. The support team can tell you which upcoming session matches your question, or point you to a recorded guide that covers the topic first.
